Beautiful, wondermous photo….it wouldn’t look near as striking without that black, hail-filled cloud in the background!

I live for this kind of natural lighting when the sun is in front of a darkening, threatening sky. Hope she got in before the hail got too dense.

Really a beautiful image, with the contrast of dark cold and warm bright.

What a photo! The striking contrast of the autumn colors, the churning sky AND that dark pond in the foreground. Barry asked if I heard the pellets of sleet last night. (No, sound asleep…)

We’ve had a little bit of everything over the last several days. It’s as if Mama Nature is shuffling the cards, trying to decide what kind of hand to deal us. Right now another bank of dark clouds is rushing across the Bay toward the Writing Studio and Bait Shop. In the very center there is a blue eye. I’m hoping that’s a good sign.

Makes me want to run and get inside quick before the storm really kicks in.

This from a guy who lives on the Great Plains and knows his storms!

Grey sky, golden foliage and black water certainly make a striking combination. Nature never fails to surprise and impress.

Thank you all – I’ll make sure Katherine sees the comments. She did some good work here, didn’t she!
