I just remembered what I forgot. If you are from Around Here and you happen to read this before it’s too late, please forgive me.
The Torch Lake Township EMS is sponsoring a Health Fair today, Wednesday, from 10 to 4 over at the Township Hall.
This is such a good thing, and I am so sorry I didn’t give you more notice. Do something good for yourself. Have your blood glucose or blood pressure checked–for free! Get your flu shot (there is a fee for this). Find out about services that help you stay in your home when you’re sick or just slowing down. Worried about your cholesterol? Charlevoix Area Hospital will have a team there to do a screening (there is a fee for this). Thinking about increasing the Township population? You can talk to a midwife. Facing difficult end-of-life choices? You can find out about hospice services.
Learn about sleep apnea and Alzheimer’s and counseling and chiropractic. Be a good neighbor–roll up your sleeve at the Blood Drive. Check out the stuff you can borrow from the EMS Loan Closet. Meet the great team of EMTs who staff your township ambulance service. Last year there were goodie bags. I’ll bet there will be again. I’m sure you can pick up a File of Life packet and a bunch of useful pamphlets. I don’t see how you can go wrong.
You don’t have to live in the Township to attend the Health Fair. Everybody is welcome. Be well.
That photo is from last year, but I’ll bet there will be some more cute little kids around this year.
