Late Autumn at the north end of Torch Lake

Babs Young has done it again. She writes: I think we are close to past peak but around the lakes it’s still very colorful. We have had great weather this week in that it would rain one minute and be sunny the next. I think it’s “lake effect”. You can see here how the sun is shining on the trees and the dark gray clouds are moving across. This is the north end of Torch Lake.

Just think—all that might have been covered with two feet of snow had we been just a little farther east. Our hearts go out to all the people on the eastern seaboard who are buried under the early blizzard without benefit of heat or light. Mama Nature on a tear is a fearsome thing.
